According to Muncie, the best article ever.
Ivan is coming. Every school within two counties is shut down. EMCC is closed. MSU Meridian campus is closed. Is MSU going to close? I don't think so. We have got to keep the doors open to keep that research cash coming in. Pour that money on, keep those generators blazing, gotta do just a little more work and our grad students can save the freaking world. Please don't drive on campus students, but to those of you who do not live in a crappy dorm, you must prevail against torrential rain and gravel riverbeds to park in just to make it to a couple more hours of class.
Here is the greater part of the plan, now residing at http://www.msstate.edu/web/temp/hurricane_advisory.html:
Forecasts as of late Wednesday morning indicate that Hurricane Ivan will make landfall somewhere near the Mississippi/Alabama border at approximately 7 a.m. Thursday. Tropical storm force winds are being forecast for the Starkville/MSU area, with heavy rainfall likely from Wednesday night to Friday morning. Local flooding is possible.
While presently there are no plans to cancel classes at the Starkville campus, university officials urge commuting students and staff to use caution and common sense when driving to the campus if flooding occurs. On-campus students are requested to remain on campus and limit travel as much as possible. Although university officials advise against any travel, students who find it absolutely necessary to travel should contact the Mississippi Highway Patrol travel advisory office by dialing 601-987-1211 and requesting information regarding the intended route.
The MSU Meridian Campus will be closed from noon Wednesday until Monday morning.
For students living on campus, residence halls offer the best protection against the elements. The residence directors and residence assistants are trained and are knowledgeable about appropriate steps to take during an emergency.
For students living off campus, both the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency and local American Red Cross are available for help, along with the university. A shelter at First United Methodist Church (200 W. Lampkin Street, Starkville, 662-323-5722 ) will open at noon Wednesday with a second shelter at Starkville Church of God ( 701 S. Montgomery, 662-323-0352 ) remaining on standby to open if needed.
Local radio stations, particularly MSU station WMSV 91.1, will broadcast pertinent information from university officials (live broadcast), and this page will be updated as needed.

If you really want to impress the other chefs in the kitchen on your first day, you can do it by throwing vegetables in the air and cutting them before they land again.
To test a motherboard correctly you need to plug a 110V pigtail into any wall socket. Once it is plugged in just take the two seperate ends and stick them on any two fins on the processor heat sink. If it makes a spark you know the board is good to go and you can troubleshoot something else.

It is completely unneccessary to use motor oil in cars. That scam is just a ploy by oil companies to keep themselves rolling in bucks. You can use vegetable oil. It is much cheaper and can stand higher heat.

Province workshop was great. I ended up getting elected treasurer for the province, so it is looking like our chapter is going to have plenty of money for formal.
